Rooms worth asking for

The best room at a hotel is often one particular room. These are ones the hotels name on their own websites.

How we check

We only list a hotel when its own website backs up what we say. Every listing shows the date we checked it (3 November 2026 at the latest) and links to the pages we read. Where a hotel does not say something, such as whether dogs are allowed, we say it is not confirmed rather than guess. More on how we check.

Questions

What is a minimoon?

A minimoon is a short honeymoon, usually two to five nights, taken soon after the wedding. Some couples take one instead of a long honeymoon, and some take one first and save the big trip for later.

Where should we go for a minimoon in Ireland?

Somewhere you can reach in a few hours, so the trip is mostly rest. We cover Kerry, Cork, Galway and Mayo, Clare and Limerick, Wicklow and the South East, Donegal and Sligo, the Midlands and Lakelands so far, and add new regions as we check them.

How do you check the hotels?

We read each hotel's own website for the things couples ask about: a private hot tub, the spa, adults-only rules, dogs and any minimoon or romantic package. Each listing shows the date we checked and links to our sources.
